I blogged on the previous post about how Andrew and I celebrated the twins' birthday on their actual birthday by riding the carousal and going out to dinner, but I forgot to post the pictures. So, here are the pictures of my little cuties all dressed up on the their birthday! (Side note: Andrew and I shopped FOREVER before the girls birthday to find them birthday shirts that said something like "Its My Birthday" or "Birthday Girl" but we couldn't find any! So I made them some :) Wouldn't you know it that after their birthday I found TONS of them!)

Here is the invitation to their party. (I forgot to post this on the previous post as well)
It was such a great day! We ended it by going out to dinner, but I forgot to take pictures. The girls loved having the staff sing happy birthday to them, and they LOVED the ice cream :)
P.S. It was Andrews birthday 2 days ago! He is such a great dad and I am so lucky to have him in my life! Love ya babe! Happy birthday!
My little girls tuned one June 5, 2013! This post is WAY late, but I really wanted to share some pictures and write down the fun stories of their birthday before I forget. I know the girls wont remember their first birthday but I wanted to throw a big birthday party for them because they love playing with their cousins. We had a birthday party in St. George with my family the week before their birthday and then we had a party in Tooele the weekend after their birthday. Andrew and I also partied with the girls all day Wednesday June 5th to celebrate the actual day of their birthday. It was a lot of partying! On June 5th Andrew and I weren't just celebrating our beautiful daughters 1st birthday, but we were celebrating surviving the first year of having twins! We celebrated all 4 of us surviving the year and all the ups and downs that came with it. It was a crazy year and the best way to describe it is it was a roller coaster! The BEST roller coaster of my life :)
I did a Thing 1 Thing 2 (Dr. Suess) Theme. I made the skirts and headbands and ordered the shirts online. My CUTE little things!

Ok, maybe it's not nice to get a good laugh at these pictures, but they are just so darn cute when they're mad! Most of the time it's sad, but every once in a while I just have to laugh when they throw a fit over the littlest thing.
Presents!
The girls really liked opening their presents. They were a little confused, but once they noticed everyone was giving them toys and fun stuff they loved it!

We played a bubble game in St. George. The kids ran around and tried to catch the bubbles. The twins love bubbles and they loved watching their cousins run around chasing them!

We gave the girls some special cute cupcakes for their Tooele party ( I forgot to take a pic of the). They were NOT into the cake! They were so tired they didn't even want to eat any.
It has been such a fun year watching my girls learn and grow. I can't believe how FAST the year went by. I am so blessed to have such beautiful loving daughters! I never wanted twins and I'd get mad at Andrew when he'd joke about it, I was so nervous when I found out I was pregnant with twins. Looking back I couldn't have imagined what was in store for me. It was a tough year. Lots of lost sleep, lots of work and stress, but even more love and happiness than I could have ever imagined! Having these two sweet girls in my life is the best thing ever!
Summer comes early in Vegas. It started getting warm in April. It was great! High 60's and 70's made for the perfect temperature to play outside. Trips to the park several times a week, swimming, BBQs, popsicles. Summertime has been so much fun with my two little monkeys.
A friend and I took the girls swimming for the first time in April. Emma liked it, Adelyn didn't. :) Opposites in EVERYTHING! The next time Andrew and I took them and that time Adelyn slowly warmed up to the idea and Emma would only go in if Andrew or I were holding her.
The first time They went.
Emma loving it!
Adelyn not so sure...
The second time They went.
Adelyn slowly warming up, but still a little scared
Adelyn having fun, even though she looks a little surprised.
Emma only wanted to be held.
Family fun swim day!
The girls got to try popsicles for the first time. They happened to be teething at the time. Adelyn already had one tooth. She bit down on the popsicle and it didn't feel too good on her tooth. The picture below is from when she bit the popsicle :)

Going shopping with two is sometimes a challenge. The stroller doesn't hold a lot, but shopping carts (other than costco) only seat one. Luckily my girls are small so they share :)Funny side story: Twins tend to be treated like celebrities when we go out. Everyone want to see them, touch them and ask lots of questions about them. Its fun and for the most part I enjoy it, however there are times when its not so great. When people would get too close I started telling people they were sick and I'd ask them not to touch. They weren't really sick I just didn't want a bunch of strangers touching my babies face, hands, etc. especially when they were little. They are preemies and have NO immune system. I don't want to offend people and say please don't touch my babies because you have germs even if you don't think you do, you do in deed have germs so please just don't touch my babies! So, I would just say my girls were sick. This worked all the time! Until.. One day we went to target (picture below) one lady saw them and asked all the questions and ooed and aawwed. And then she said "they are so cute I just have to squeeze them!" I said "oh, thanks!, but sorry they are just getting over an illness so please don't touch them" she laughed and I walked away. Then she said "where are you going, I want to squeeze your babies!" I had already walked around the corner and it was pretty awkward so I just kept walking and hid from her. Then we eventually snuck out of the store. haha
hiding from the crazy lady at Target!
I found a cool park by my house that has a big pond and lots of duck and geese. The girls were very curious about the ducks and geese. They liked to yell at them unless they got too close then they'd just get really quiet and still and stare at them.
And of course we had to go swinging while at the park. These girls LOVE to swing!

One of the best parts of having twins is watching what good friends they are becoming. They love each other so much! It is so cute to see how much fun they have together.
Summertime in Vegas treated us well! The girls loved all the time we had to spend outside.
